Study Tours

Design for Homes organises visits by minibus or coach across the UK and Europe to see and learn about the best in new residential and mixed use development. “Efficient, well planned and well organised. It was a real eye-opener” More than 40 groups of Local Authority planning departments (including elected members), RDAs, NGOs, Housing Associations, Private Developers and Architects have undertaken our tours across the UK and Europe since we began offering them in 2004.

  • We tailor visits to suit particular client requirements/interests, such as scheme locations (edge of town, urban) and vernacular (contemporary/traditional house types).
  • We use unrivalled industry contacts to arrange site access and, where appropriate, for a professional involved in each development to be on site to add expert guidance on site.
  • We make sure that each location is no more than 90 minutes’ drive from the pick up point to allow for up to 5 site visits in a single day. We make sure the site visits are arranged to minimise rush hour traffic delays.
  • We provide detailed colour printed itineraries with images, site plans and descriptions of each scheme for each delegate.
  • We find the best venues for good meals – you’ll need an hour off your feet.
  • We only need 4 weeks’ notice to arrange a full tour. Please click here for a list of previous clients and quotes.

International
Design for Homes organises regular one or two-day tours to see the best new residential-led regeneration schemes in Scandanavia (particularly Hammarby Sjostad and Malmo), Ireland, Holland and Helsinki. Costs are dependent on group size and destinations.

Costs Include coach hire, itinerary planning, printouts and an expert guide with you all day. Typically for a UK tour this averages to £300 per head including all costs, rising to £800 for an international multi centre tour. Additional guides can be arranged to meet the tour on site. Please call us on 020 3301 3855 to discuss an itinerary and for a cost estimate.
